Hello Everyone.

Here’s this weeks addition of what did Pat get into this week.

This past week was a good busy week. I got a lot of work done. Personal and customer.

First customer stuff.

I continued on the Willys Jeep project I’ve been working on for a while now. Mechanical side of things is done. Now it’s time to tackle some electrical issues. I solved them fairly easily. Ended up being a blown fuse due to a bad brake light wire. I got that all figured out just need to confirm one thing with the customer first. This job will be done this week!

The other big project I worked on was some upholstery work. If you remember from my last update, I am working on seats for a 1920s Studebacker. The seat spring was all cleaned up, and now one seat is upholstered! The customer stopped by the other day and aproved of the work, and gave me the green light to continue. 3 seats to go! Not sure if I’ll get to them this week, most likely next week.

Lastly I did some running around errands. I dropped of the next Model A engine for rebuild at the machine shop, and I picked up a bunch of radiators from the radiator shop. 3 were for a customer and the last was for my 1915 Model T roadster. So should have the roadster back up and running soon.

My projects!

So for myself, I was smart…I looked a head at the weather for the week… and saw a ton of rain in the forcast. So instead of waiting till the weekend (which was crapy weather) I decided to go ahead and pour some Babbitt! The job was to pour the connecting rods for my engine using the new pouring jig I made. I’m happy to say my new rig worked great! Still got plans to make one or two more jigs to make the process quicker. I then spent the rainy crapy day Saturday boring out the rods and fitting them to the crankshaft. I’m happy with how they came out. Few minor tweaks to work on for the next set but they should be good to go.

My engine is basically ready for assembly. I’m hopping to knock it out sometime next week.

Spring dust off!!!!!

Quick note on the dust off I’m planning. So far 3 cars are signed up. Let me know ASAP if you want your car on the list.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND!

My list is just whose cars are Gona be worked on. Also so I know how much Supplies(oils, points, etc) to get. Or bring your own. Just let me know!

Let’s make my little event a Great turnout and an excellent start to the touring season!

I only ask for payment on the supplies I end up using. So I do need to know what to order!

Let me know by the end of the month!

I currently have 3 on my list.

Joe Oblinsky, Bill O Brian, Ray Murphy. If I forgot one just let me know.

SAVE THE DATE!!!!!

It was recently brought up that we should have some sort of “dust off” spring time get together/meet whatever you’d like to call it. So here’s what I’m thinking….MAY 17th!

I’m planning on another workshop/maintenance day. So my Model A truck, Jenns Truck and I’m sure plenty of other club members can use spring time tune ups/maintenance work.

So here’s my plan….oil change on the engine, transmission, and rear axle. Then grease chassis and front wheel bearings. Probably points if they need it. Of course anything else maintenance wise they’ll need on a as needed basis.

I figure will some planing we can basically make a day of it, and knock out least maybe 3-4 cars? Maybe more?

So keep that date in mind and if you’re interested in having your cars maintenance work done let me know and let’s see how many club members are interested in doing so.

FYI while reading my emails I’d know of anyone who would enjoy these too, feel free to send them their way. Or pass me their email and I’ll gladly add them to the list.

Also if you’re interested on catching up on my weekly emails….visit my website.

On there you’ll see a tab that says weekly project updates. All the write ups I’ve done since starting this are on there.
