Hello everyone.
Here’s this weeks addition of what did Pat get into.
This week was a fairly decent. Made some progress. Always seems like I don’t get a lot done during the summer months, but here what this week projects were.
First from last weeks update I continued on the Zeith carburetor rebuilds. I have 5 to build for customers and planning on another 2 for the ready to go inventory pile. I got 5 of them blasted and the small parts cleaned up and 2 tested.
One is ready to go, the other needs more adjusting. So yours are in progress Dan!
So coming up very soon I got some Babbitt work to do. A complete Model A short block to be exact. Also a set of connecting rods for an early Franklin. So I decided to make am alignment tool. Setting the tool up will be a little Challenge but in the long run it should save some time and make the sets of rods as equal as I can get. We shall see soon if I’m correct.
As for my stuff. I made some progress. I’m trying to knock out the carburetor for the Camero so that done and I can move on to other stuff. So I made good progress on that. I blew it apart into lots of tiny pieces and today managed to 80% reassemble it.
While I was playing with the carburetor, Jenn tinkered on the roadster. She touched up the door hinges that got a little beat up while I was adjusting the doors, and she got the door handles installed, and started giving the ol radiator shell a cleaning.
Lastly the most exciting news is had in a long time, my 1923 Model T BUB Bodied Coupe will be in the AACA club magazine!!
Back story….as many of you probably remember this past October Jenn and I took the Bub to Hershey for their AACA show. While there the magazine editor in chief too a bunch of photos of the car and I sent him a write up on the car. I can’t wait to see it in person. I attached a photo of what part of it will be in the magazine. You’ll all know when I got the magazine in hand. Should be out any day now.
Lastly there’s a new addition to the for sale column. 1929 Model A Pheaton. I do know a bit about the car as I’ve done some work on it. It has new brakes all around, rebuilt front end, gas tank sealed, and I’m fairly certain I rewired the car as well. If your interested reach out to me and I’ll put you in contact with the owner to schedule looking at and any other questions.
Tons more to come. Till next time.
Patrick/Jenn
